Similarweb’s MCP server costs nothing extra, but it only connects on a plan with API access. Similarweb’s docs name three such plans, API-only, Business and Enterprise, and Similarweb publishes a price for none of them.
Its pricing page does list three self-serve packages, at $199, $399 and $649 a month. On October 31, 2026, Similarweb’s own feature table crossed out API access on all three, so none of them reaches the MCP server.
Every price below comes from the seller’s own page, read that day. Where Similarweb says to contact sales, this page says so.
- There is no separate MCP fee. The server spends the same data credits as Similarweb’s API.
- It needs a quote-priced plan. Similarweb’s docs name API-only, Business and Enterprise, and its pricing page sends API buyers to sales.
- The packages with prices leave it out. Competitive Intelligence is $199 a month, or $125 billed annually, and Similarweb’s table crosses out API access on it and on the $399 and $649 packages.
- Credits are counted per data point. Most endpoints charge 1 credit a data point, keyword endpoints 1 credit per 100 rows, and unused credits expire each billing cycle.
- Search data has a published price. ContextBolt SEO is $35 a month after a 7-day free trial, with a rival’s estimated search traffic, ranked keywords and backlinks in your agent. Third-party Similarweb scrapers charge from $0.79 per 1,000 sites.
Which Similarweb plans include MCP and API access
Similarweb’s MCP setup docs open with what you need, and the first item is a “Similarweb subscription with API/MCP access.” The docs then name the plans that count, “API-only, Business, or Enterprise plans.”
Its API page says the same from the sales side. API access is “available as part of our Business and Enterprise plans, or alternatively as a standalone package.” The standalone package is the API-only plan.
The Web Intelligence plans with prices are its three self-serve packages, and the full feature table crosses out “API access” on all three. “API Quick access,” which the tooltip describes as access through RapidAPI or Elastic API, is crossed out too.
That rules out a free trial of the MCP server. Each self-serve package has a “Try for free” button, but it starts a trial of a package without API access. Similarweb’s API FAQ answers “Can I test the API before subscribing?” with “You’ll need an active subscription with API access in order to use our API.”
Similarweb’s Sales Intelligence line follows the same rule. Its $129 Individual plan lists API and MCP access as not included, and the Business and Enterprise plans that include them are custom-priced.
If you already have a qualifying plan, our guide shows how to set up the Similarweb MCP server and what each of its tools returns.
What Similarweb’s published packages cost
These are the Web Intelligence packages on Similarweb’s pricing page on October 31, 2026. Its /corp/pricing/ address redirects there.
| Package | Monthly | Billed annually | Data credits a month | API access |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Competitive Intelligence | $199 | $125/mo | 100 | Not included |
| Competitive Intel & SEO & AEO | $399 | $333/mo | 100 | Not included |
| Competitive Intel, SEO & AEO & Ads | $649 | $542/mo | 500 | Not included |
| Businesses and Enterprises | Talk to sales | Talk to sales | Not listed | Included, with MCP |
Each self-serve package is one user. Competitive Intelligence keeps 3 months of history, and the other two keep 6.
If you have seen Similarweb listed “from $125 a month,” that is Competitive Intelligence billed annually, $1,500 a year, and it has no API access.
The data credits in those packages do not open the API either. Similarweb’s tooltip calls them credits “for Excel downloads and API usage, refreshed monthly,” and with API access crossed out, they pay for downloads.
The business offer is where the page lists “Integrate APIs, data feeds, & MCP.” It has no price, only a “Talk to sales” button.
How much the Similarweb API costs
Similarweb does not publish an API price. Its pricing FAQ says the API comes inside custom packages for businesses or as a standalone product, and to learn the price you contact sales, select “API” in the form and describe what you need.
So there is no number to compare for the API-only plan, Business or Enterprise. Ask for one in writing.
Similarweb does publish prices for some data products on AWS Marketplace, where it is the seller. Its Single Market Data Feed of estimated website visitor counts lists at $440,000 for a 24-month contract. Its DigitalRank API, for global website ranking data, is free. Neither is the API plan the MCP server runs on.
Once you have API access, the bill is counted in data credits, which replaced Similarweb’s older hits-based pricing. Our guides to Semrush MCP pricing and DataForSEO MCP pricing show how two SEO data servers price the same kind of access, one by plan and one by the call.
How Similarweb data credits work
Data credits are Similarweb’s unit for the data you pull. Its help center says API calls, MCP requests and report downloads all spend one balance, and the balance renews on the 1st of every month.
The credit docs charge by the row returned.
- Most endpoints: 1 credit per data point, such as one month of visits for one site in one country.
- Keyword endpoints: 1 credit per 100 rows, for organic keywords, paid keywords and landing pages.
A request’s cost multiplies out from there. Domains, times the endpoint’s cost, times granularity, countries, time periods and results per domain. Similarweb’s own examples show how fast that grows.
| Request, from Similarweb’s docs | Credits |
|---|---|
| Monthly visits for amazon.com, US, 6 months | 6 |
| Weekly traffic sources for walmart.com, US and Canada, 3 months | 576 |
| 10 domains, 5 metrics, 12 months, 2 countries | 1,200 |
| 1,000 keyword rows | 10 |
Granularity is the big multiplier. The docs count weekly data as about four results a month and daily as about thirty, so a daily pull costs about 30 times its monthly version.
Similarweb does not publish what a credit costs in dollars. These figures show how fast a balance drains. What a month costs depends on the quote.
These rules change the bill.
- Expiry: unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle.
- The limit: past your allowance, requests are throttled or blocked with a 429 error until your account manager raises it.
- Free calls: errors and empty results cost nothing, and spent credits cannot be refunded.
- Speed: the REST API allows 10 requests per second per account.
MCP requests use the same credits as API calls, and Similarweb says consumption varies with your prompts and the data returned. The agent picks the endpoints, countries and granularity, so a broad question can cost more than the one report you meant to pull.
An admin can cap that. Under Account Settings, then Data Credits Management, a monthly credit limit per user covers the REST API, Batch API, MCP and Data Exporter combined.
What third-party Similarweb scrapers charge
Search for Similarweb MCP pricing and you also find tools sold by third parties. None of them is made by Similarweb.
Apify actors: Apify runs a store of scrapers, called actors, and several sellers list a Similarweb actor priced per result. NanoScrape’s notes say its data “comes from the free public Similarweb website page,” and that fields Similarweb keeps for paid plans, such as most traffic sources beyond the top one, keyword volume, referral site names and monthly history, come back empty. Similarweb’s own pricing FAQ calls its free site data “a high-level sample.”
These are the prices on each actor’s page, from Canadesk Support, Curious Coder, NanoScrape and mscraper.
| Actor, seller | On Apify’s free plan | On paid Apify plans |
|---|---|---|
| Similarweb, Canadesk Support | $0.79 per 1,000 websites | $0.79 per 1,000 websites |
| Similarweb scraper, Curious Coder | $3 per 1,000 results | $1 per 1,000 results |
| Similarweb Scraper, NanoScrape | $5 per 1,000 websites | From $4.87 per 1,000 |
| Similarweb Quick Scraper, mscraper | $10 per 1,000 results | From $9 per 1,000 |
Three of them also charge a fee when a run starts, from a fraction of a cent up to $0.03.
Apify’s free plan includes $5 a month to spend, and it blocks runs once that is gone until the next cycle. Starter is $19 a month. Any actor becomes an MCP tool through Apify’s MCP server. Add https://mcp.apify.com?tools=santamaria-automations/similarweb-scraper to your client and sign in with OAuth or an Apify token.
SyncGTM: SyncGTM, a go-to-market data tool, has a Similarweb tool in its MCP server. Its similarweb_insights tool returns total visits, engagement, top traffic sources and competitor performance for a list of domains, at 2 credits a call. On SyncGTM’s pricing, the free plan gives 50 credits a month, and Solo is $49 a month for 1,000 credits, or 500 calls. Its docs warn that low-traffic domains fall below Similarweb’s reporting threshold and come back thin or empty.
Which route fits your job
- ContextBolt SEO, for organic search research inside your agent: $35 a month after a 7-day free trial, with the price on the page. It covers the search side of a competitor, its estimated search traffic, the keywords and pages behind it, keyword difficulty and the live SERP.
- A Similarweb plan with API access, for traffic and audience data beyond search: if your company already pays for Business, Enterprise or API-only, the MCP server adds no fee, only credit spend.
- A Similarweb self-serve package, for its web app without an agent: $199 to $649 a month with a free trial, and no API or MCP.
- An Apify scraper, for a one-off batch of public traffic snapshots: a cent or less per site, with paid-plan fields left empty.
- SyncGTM, when a traffic figure is one column in a sales enrichment table: 2 credits a call, on a free plan with 50 credits or paid plans from $49 a month.
What to ask Similarweb before you sign
If you need Similarweb’s full dataset in your agent, the quote sets the cost. These steps make that quote comparable with a plan that prints its price.
- Ask how many data credits a month the quote includes, and confirm MCP requests spend the same balance.
- Ask what a larger allocation costs, since requests past the limit fail with a 429 error.
- Ask which datasets the contract covers. The MCP server has tools for web traffic, search and apps.
- Plan around expiry, because unused credits do not roll over.
- Set a monthly credit limit for each user in Data Credits Management before anyone connects an agent.
Where ContextBolt SEO fits
ContextBolt SEO is ours, so weigh the bias.
It is $35 a month for 1,000 credits, after a 7-day free trial with 100 credits. A card is required, and the trial becomes $35 a month unless you cancel. Research tools cost 1 credit each, backlink tools cost 3, and your own Search Console connects free and uses zero credits.
The overlap with Similarweb is the search side. For any site, a domain overview returns its estimated monthly search traffic, how many keywords it ranks for and an authority estimate. From there your agent can pull which keywords and pages bring that traffic, how hard each keyword is, and who holds the top 10 today. That is the job of Similarweb’s Website Keywords and Keywords Overview tools inside its MCP server, here on DataForSEO data at a price you can read before you buy.
AI visibility checks are in the same $35, with historical coverage of Google AI and ChatGPT and live checks in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. Similarweb’s AEO tools start in its $399 package, which has no API access.
The agent is where you ask, and every lookup saves automatically to your SEO Dashboard. What it does not do is estimate a site’s total visits, its audiences or app data, which stay Similarweb’s job.
To see what it finds for your own site first, run the free site check. It needs no account, and the 7-day trial is there when you want the full toolset in your agent.
