Reddit saved posts · Chrome extension

Reddit keeps 1,000.
You keep all of them.

Reddit stops showing your saves after 1,000 and gives you no search. ContextBolt puts your saved posts and comments in one library, subreddit and all, and finds any of them from the few words you remember.

Free to capture and search, up to 150 bookmarks
No cap and export to a file on Pro, $6/mo

Reddit's saved list and its 1,000 cap

An illustration of a Reddit saved list. Below a line marked as Reddit's 1,000 save cap, older saves are greyed out because Reddit no longer displays them. ContextBolt keeps what it captures before Reddit drops it.

  • 1,000 Saves, then the cap Reddit shows your most recent 1,000 saved items. Save the 1,001st and the oldest one drops off the end.
  • 0 Ways to search them There is no search box for saved posts. Finding last year's save means scrolling until you happen to spot it.
  • 30d For a list of bare links Reddit's official data request can take up to 30 days and returns a CSV of post IDs and links. No titles, no text, nothing to search.

How to search your Reddit saves

  1. Step 1 Add ContextBolt to Chrome Free from the Chrome Web Store. No account, no API key, no Reddit developer app.
  2. Step 2 Open Reddit while signed in ContextBolt reads your saved list through your own session, posts and comments alike. After that, new saves come in as you browse, or press Sync Reddit in the popup.
  3. Step 3 Search for it Type the words you remember, typos and all. Results rank as you type, on your device, and the subreddit counts as a match.

What you can do with your Reddit saves

Reddit gives you one long list with no search. Once your saves are in ContextBolt, here is what you can do with them.

  • SearchFree Find a post or a comment from a few words, typos and all. The subreddit counts as a match.
  • KeepFree Your copy of the text stays if the post is deleted. It opens in ContextBolt Reader.
  • ExportPro Download your Reddit saves as CSV, JSON or Excel, with titles, text, authors and links.
  • AskPro Claude, Cursor or Codex search your saves in the middle of a conversation.

Free up to 150 bookmarks across every platform. Pro removes the cap for $6 a month.

Three ways to get your saves out of Reddit
Compared on Reddit's saved pageReddit's data requestContextBolt
What you get Your newest ~1,000 An ID and a link per save Posts and comments, with text
Search None None Instant, typos and all
Subreddit Shown Not in the file Shown and searchable
A file None CSV CSV, JSON, Excel on Pro
The wait None Up to 30 days One visit to Reddit

The data request does reach saves older than your newest 1,000, as links. ContextBolt reads what your saved list still shows, then picks up new saves each time you browse Reddit.

Why ContextBolt for your Reddit saves

Comments count tooThe thing worth keeping is often a comment nine replies deep. ContextBolt captures saved comments the same way as posts, so both turn up in search.
Past the 1,000 lineReddit lists only your newest 1,000 saves. Whatever ContextBolt has captured stays in your library after Reddit stops listing it.
Deleted posts stay readableContextBolt keeps the text it captured. If the post or the account is deleted later, your copy is still searchable and still opens in ContextBolt Reader.

As an X/Twitter user, I’ve bookmarked close to 2,000 tweets, posts, videos and articles over the years. The problem is there isn’t an easy or straightforward way for me to extract, summarise, or synthesise the content I find insightful… ContextBolt solves this challenge for me.

Want the detail first? Read the full guide.

Does it work on old.reddit.com and new Reddit?

It syncs from www.reddit.com through your own logged-in session, whichever layout you normally browse in. If you live on old.reddit.com, open www.reddit.com once or press Sync Reddit in the popup.

Can it get back saves past Reddit's 1,000 limit?

Not the ones Reddit has already dropped. Your saved list stops at about 1,000, and so does anything that reads it, ContextBolt included. From the day you install it, though, ContextBolt keeps what it captures, so the cap cannot age those saves out of your library. Free covers up to 150 bookmarks, and Pro removes that cap. For older saves, Reddit's data request lists them as links.

What happens to posts that get deleted?

If ContextBolt captured it before it was removed, your copy stays: the text, the subreddit and the author. Your library reads its own copy, not Reddit, so the deletion does not reach it.

Is it safe to use with my Reddit account?

ContextBolt reads only your own saved list, through the session you are already signed into, a page at a time with a pause between pages. It does not post, vote, or read anyone else's pages, and no password or API key changes hands.

Do I need an API key or a Reddit app?

No. There is no API key, no OAuth screen, and no Reddit developer app to register. Install the extension and browse Reddit the way you already do.

Can I export my Reddit saves to a file?

Yes, on Pro. Pick Reddit as the source and download CSV, JSON or Excel. Each row carries the title, text, author, link, dates, topic and tags. There is no 30-day wait.

Can I search by subreddit?

Yes. The subreddit is part of what search reads, so typing homelab finds saves from r/homelab as well as posts that mention it. Add on:reddit to leave out X, LinkedIn and web pages.

How are my saves organized?

Every save gets topic tags on its own, so posts about the same thing sit together even when they came from six different subreddits. You can browse by what something was about rather than where you found it.

Does it cost anything?

Free up to 150 bookmarks. Pro is $6/mo: it removes the cap, adds export to a file, and adds the endpoint that connects your library to Claude, Cursor and Codex. See pricing.

Does it handle X and LinkedIn too?

Yes. The same library holds your X bookmarks and LinkedIn saves, so one search covers all three sites. Web pages you save sit in their own tab. The main bookmarks page covers how that works.
